Story

Pratap (Vivek Oberai) escapes from an assassination attempt made by Surya (Suriya). It is later revealed that Surya is son of Narasimha Reddy who was the main enemy of Pratap. Pratap’s team hunts down all the people who helped Surya. Meanwhile, Surya surrenders himself before court and is jailed. Surya starts hatching plans from jail. Muddu Krishna gets attracted to Surya and becomes his devoted follower. The rest of the story is all about how Surya succeeds in

Artists Performance

Surya is a perfect choice for the character of Suri. There is a scene before the interval of the movie in which they didn’t show the mutilated bodies in the TV bomb blasts. RGV has shown the horror and sadness in the eyes of Suriya. This scene speaks volumes about how an actor could be used to create superb effect of a bomb blast without actually showing the people who died in it. Priyamani is authentic as a supportive wife of Surya. Sudeep has a vital role in this movie
. Subhalekha Sudhakar plays an important character. Most of the character characters are from the part 1.

Technical departments
Story: When one is inspired by a real story, it is pretty evident that people look for authenticity of the story. Rakta Charitra 1 is very close to the reality. But the part 2 looks more like fictional and the people who expect real story might get disappointed. Part one has many interesting and true-to-real-life killings. But part two has only three major killings (Rama Naidu studios bomb blast (opening shot), TV bomb blast (interval shot) and Pratap assassination (climax). In the part 1 of Rakta Charitra, RGV explains the basic reason for Pratao going into politics is to get power so that nobody can touch him. RGV shows in part 2 that Pratap is killed while being in power. In real, Paritala Ravi was killed because his government was not in the power. Hence the people who followed Paritala Ravi life story might not be satisfied with the climax of the movie.

Screenplay - direction: The way he hid Surya’s thread in the part one and narrated it as a flashback in the part two is good. Since the part 2 didn’s have enough engaging raw material, RGV has explored the emotional quotient in terms of Surya-Pratap rivalry and Surya-Bhavani understanding. Direction of RGV is intense in certain parts of the movie.

Rakta Charitra 2Other departments: Music by Dharam Sandeep is as good as in the part one. However, there are not many commercially engrossing scenes in the second part to use the peppy RC background music. Dialogues by Nageswara Rao (mostly RGV’s) are good. One such dialogue is ‘Rajakeeyamantha Yes and No la madhya vundi’ (Tanikella Bharani in movie). The other dialogue is a comment on wives (we see similar one in Naa Istam book). Camera work is very good. In addition to close ups and innovative framing, RGV tilted the scene by 180 degrees in a couple of scenes. Art direction is authentic.

orangeAnalysis: If this film were made in one part, I would have written first half of the movie is good (Rakta Charitra part 1) and second half should have been better (Rakta Charitra part 2). The orientation of these two parts is different. Part 1 was played to galleries and Part 2 is dwelled more on emotional content. The plus points of the movie are Surya and a few intense scenes. On the flip side, narration is slow and story is highly fictional. We have to wait and see how part 2 of the successful Rakta Charitra fares at the box office.

Tailpiece: The ‘Kathulatho Savasam’ song that comes at the end of the movie is really haunting. RGV rendered this song with so much of passion and sanctity we only find in those patriots who sing Vande Mataram.

Story:

An entertaining tale, the story begins with a faction murder in Rayalaseema and the victim’s brother Ramineedu (nagineedu) vows revenge on the killer’s family. However, the killer dies and his wife escapes with her son. Scene change and 28 years later, the city of Hyderabad has Ramu (sunil), a young man who doesn’t have parents and is struggling hard for livelihood. His fate takes a turn when he is notified of a land in his native village in Rayalaseema. He decides to sell that and buy an auto trolley. He sets off to his village and it is here that Ramineedu and his sons (supreeth, venugopal) live. Meanwhile, Ramu meets Aparna (saloni) in his journey and she happens to be the daughter of Ramineedu. A twist of fate and sequence of events land him at the home of Ramineedu and they also discover his true identity. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Artist performances:

Sunil shoulders his role very responsibly and though he has been marked as a comedian, he has shown that he can be a good lead as well. Another asset to the film is Saloni, her sensuous looks and oomph factor give a lot of visual appeal, incidentally she has not resorted to any skin show but raised the heat in her own way. Nagineedu was an apt choice for his role, Supreeth was effective and Venugopal was convincing, Brahmaji made his presence felt. Kanchi gave few light moments. Jayavani was regular, Anita Nath was as usual, Sandhya was standard, Subbaraya Sharma was okay, Rao Ramesh was not given due screen space, the others did their bit as required.

Plus points:

    * Sunil's performance and dance
    * Saloni
    * Visual effects
    * Background score
    * Cinematography
    * Good pace
    * Ravi Teja voiceover

Minus points:

    * predictable storyline
    * plot revealed soon
    * few jerks in second half
    * climax

Analysis:

The film runs on a predictable storyline but then it is the ability of the director to make it interesting to the audience that scores. The narrative was impressive and presentation was good. Dialogues were alright, the script was tight and the screenplay was executed smoothly. Background score was energetic and two songs were good. Cinematography was appealing and costumes were apt. Art department made its presence felt strongly. Editing was neat. Though there are few key places where the film could have been better and created a strong impact, overall this will pass off with all classes of audience.

Verdict: Recommended!!

BHEEMILI KABADDI JATTU

Movie : Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu
Rating: 2.75/5
Cast : Nani, Saranya Mohan, Kishore, Keerthi, Dhanraj, Vinay, Santosh, Kautilya, Aarti Puri and others
Directed by : Tatineni Satya
Produced by : N V Prasad, Paras J
Banner : Mega Supergood Films
Music : Selva Ganesh
Release Date : 2010-09-07

Story:

A good tale told weakly, the story is about Suri Babu (nani) in Bheemili who is passionate about Kabaddi but then he doesn’t get the due chance. He plays with his friends and they are the Bheemili team but they never score a single victory. His life takes a turn when he sees a girl (saranya) who comes from Rajahmundry and though they don’t express it, both fall in love with each other. Meanwhile, the Bheemili team gets a chance to prove everyone wrong when a championship happens in Rajahmundry. Luckily, with the help of coach Prakash (kishore), they manage to get an entry. Whether they win the tournament? What is that shocking twist in the end? All this forms the rest of the story.

Artist performances:

Nani looks apt for the role and though he didn’t show the energy levels like his earlier films, he did a good job. Saranya Mohan was sweet as usual and her eyes, smiles take care of everything. Kishore had a powerful role but was not etched properly. Keerthi was cute. Dhanraj was decent, Santosh was standard, Vinay was okay, Kautilya was regular, the new faces who did the support roles were effective and contributed usefully to the film with their acts.

Plus points:

    * cinematography
    * background score
    * performances
    * climax

Minus points:

    * slow pace
    * repetitive romance scenes
    * no depth in characters
    * weak direction
    * emotion missing in critical scenes
    * wafer thin plot
    * abrupt editing

Analysis:

The film is a remake of the Tamil hit movie 'Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu' and as expected, it is more of a content driven movie than glamour and visual appeal. In such situations, deft handling of script is required and the right flavor of emotion should be extracted. That was missing in the film and this led to a loss in the momentum. To be honest, the story doesn't begin until second half and it is only the last five minutes that brings a shock of sorts. The film might run at the B and C centers for starters but gaining success will take efforts from the makers.

Verdict: Just average, could have been better

Analysis:

After a long time, a film with values, humor and a right proportion of all aspects of life has arrived. This might be a youth oriented flick looking at the title but there is a lot in it for parents, teenagers, friends and those in love. The journey of an individual is quite crucial during the college phase till the perfect line of career is got. This film takes you through that journey and shows how different people react to different situations and what are the results of that. This is one of those blended films that nine out of ten audiences will connect with their life. No cinematic liberties have been taken and one can identify with each and every character in the film. Seeing a movie like this which comprises predominantly of debutantes is really inspiring. The credit goes to the director for implementing the 24 arts into it and extracting the best out of all. It is also a clean entertainer with no shady romances or spicy item songs. While the youth audience will enjoy the humor and the message of responsibility, family audience will realize few important points that they miss in everyday life. This is a treat which is rare so one should be a part of this journey.

Verdict: A treat for all. Can be watched.
